For many ATV enthusiasts, the sight of the yellow bus brings back fond memories of snowmobile trips. Whenever the bus, turned into a makeshift mini-warehouse for snowmobile parts by the owner, a young man from the Beauce, rolled into town, it meant a few more trips into the bush. Those who later progressed from skis to wheels will recall how hard it was on their beloved machines to head off into the woods, where a broken ski could spell disaster.

Pioneer and visionary Gilles Soucy had a real knack for seeing which way the wind was blowing and what needs remained to be met. The networks of dealers and distributors he helped set up made it much easier to get vehicles repaired – where once there were 400 snowmobile manufacturers in the industry, many had gone out of business.

Soucy bought up parts inventories and manufactured some other parts that were in high demand, filling a gap no one else seemed to realize existed. Fast-forward 40 years. Today, Kimpex is an international presence, continuing to distribute snowmobile parts, as well as parts for ATV and UTV-type vehicles, motorcycles and off-highway bikes, scooters, boats and trailers in every category. Kimpex USA is boosting its presence on the American market through strategic partnerships with Bell Industries, Automatic Distributing, and MTA. Soucy International negotiates international manufacturing agreements, and the Soucy Group heads up all the divisions.
